Theresa Neil: Pioneering Women’s Health Equity

Launched in 2022 by UX consultancy Guidea (pronounced GUY-dee-a), Femovate is a global women’s health equity program. Femovate elevates promising femtech companies by offering world-class UX services and product strategy free as a sponsorship. The program has contributed millions of dollars of these services to 50 early-stage startups since Femovate’s inception. These startups are delivering innovation to the most pressing issues for women’s health: Early detection of endometriosis (affects 1 in 10 women, takes 8 years on average to diagnose) Postpartum hemorrhage (impacts 14 million women annually, and is the number one cause of maternal death) Breast cancer screening for women with dense breast tissue (affects 40% of women) Scarless uterine fibroids (affecting more than 25% of women, removal can cause infertility) Postpartum depression ( affecting 1 in 10 women) Pelvic organ prolapse (affecting 50% of all women), and dozens more.
